Service Description

The days and weeks after birth are a time of deep transformation — physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Midwifery care continues well beyond the birth itself to ensure that you and your baby are supported, healing well, and thriving together. What’s Included in Postpartum Care • In-home visits after birth Your midwife comes to you for postpartum checkups in the comfort of your home. These visits include newborn exams, breastfeeding support, and assessment of your healing, recovery, and emotional well-being. • Comprehensive physical care We check your vital signs, uterine involution, bleeding, stitches or tears, and general recovery to ensure you’re healing normally and feeling well. • Newborn care and screening Includes newborn weight checks, feeding assessment, newborn metabolic and hearing screening, and monitoring for jaundice or other early concerns. • Feeding and lactation support Hands-on help with breastfeeding or pumping, guidance for feeding challenges, and emotional reassurance through the adjustment period. • Emotional and mental health support We check in about how you’re feeling, coping, and connecting — and offer resources if you’re struggling with baby blues or postpartum mood changes. • Family-centered guidance Education and gentle advice on infant care, sleep, babywearing, and supporting family adjustment during the fourth trimester. Highly rated and compassionate resources if needed. Such as pelvic floor assessment, referral for placenta processing, postpartum doulas, chiropractic care, and any more specific evaluations or support that might be helpful.
